Competitive Genres and Categories

Hip Hop

hip hop

Hip Hop refers to street dance performed to hip hop music, and has been a staple point in hip hop culture since its recognition as a dance style in the 70s! With popular moves like Popping, Locking, Crumping your child will become more self-aware, and confident in their dance abilities. Our goal is to provide our dancers with exceptional choreography, and a healthy competitive experience. Our staff will ensure moves are age appropriate and safety precautions are enforced.

pom team

An emphasis on Jumps, Leaps, Big Pom, marching technique and competition choreography will be our primary focus curriculum.   All aspects of Pom are addressed at the competitive level. A strong emphasis on technique, performance, memorization, and Pom skills will be developed.
jazz team

Jazz is an ever-evolving dance form full of rhythm, syncopation, passion and life. Steeped in the rhythm of jazz music, a true American art form, jazz dance brings energy and life to all those who dance it. Athletes will explore body isolations of the head, shoulders, ribcage, feet and arms, and encourage individual expression and the development of personal style.

Team Placement

Team placements are determined by a number of factors. Many of these factors are related to the athlete themselves, such as age, skill, previous experience, and maturity. Other determining factors relate to the needs of each team, such as the number of athletes.
A position on a team is not guaranteed, however all abilities are invited and encouraged to showcase their abilities at an evaluation. Just because an athlete might not have formal training in a genre, does not mean they do not possess natural talent. It is the responsibility of our highly trained staff to ensure each dancer progresses in challenging yet positive environment.
We have a team for everyone! Beginning dancers are welcome and boys are encouraged to join!
All interested dancers must attend a public or private evaluation. To schedule a private evaluation, please contact us by using our online forum, phone, or email.

Competitions are typically held during weekends and school closures. Teams usually attend 3-5 local competitions and 1-2 national competitions each season. Note: Some competitions may require an overnight stay. Hotel and travel arrangements may be scheduled.
